New South Wales

  • Family Planning NSW

Runs a Sexuality & Disability Service that provides both individual and group-based programs (in Newcastle and via telehealth across NSW) with qualified allied health professionals. The service covers a broad array of topics - puberty, healthy relationships, managing menstruation, sexual identity, safe sex, protective behaviours, contraception, pregnancy options, self-esteem, social skills, and more - and aims to help people with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, or acquired brain injury live more autonomously and safely. Support for parents, carers, and disability workers is included via training, “easy-read” resources, and advocacy for equity of access to reproductive/sexual health information and services.

  • Northcott

Provides a rights-based, clinical service that supports people with disability and their formal and informal carers with counselling, education, training, and assessment across all aspects of sexuality and relationships - including intimacy, sexual identity, healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, consent, and sexual health. They deliver tailored programs and develop accessible tools and resources to empower people with disability to make informed decisions, express their sexuality safely, and have fulfilling relationships.

  • Sens8 Support Services

Provides therapeutic sexology, relationship counselling, and sexuality education specifically tailored to people with disability. They also offer assessments and reports, training for support workers, allied health professionals, and families on topics like consent, boundaries, sexual wellness, and sexual rights, and assist with navigating NDIS-related supports.
